A coat of wax can go a long way in keeping your car fresh, clean and ready for the summer. Waxing your car is a process that may take some time, but will definitely be worth the effort. Volvo of Tulsa has a few quick, easy steps to take your vehicle's shine to the next level:

Prepping Your Car

Start out by washing your car with soap and water. Wax doesn't adhere to dirt, so make sure you're starting out on the right foot with a clean surface. The best time to wax your car is when the temperature is between 55 degrees and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The best place to wax your car is out of direct sunlight -- like inside your garage.

Waxing Your Car

Place a silver dollar-sized amount of wax on the foam applicator or damp sponge. Use gentle, overlapping circular motions. It is important to do small sections of the car at a time; a 2-foot by 2-foot section is ideal. After you've applied the wax, use a high-speed buffer to apply more wax and get any imperfections out. After buffing, wait a few minutes according to the directions on the wax before using a microfiber cloth to remove the wax. Make your way around the rest of the car. Don't forget the roof!

Making Your Wax Last

For maximum shine, wax the car twice -- multiple thin layers look better than one thick layer. Continue washing your car regularly to ensure it looks its best all the time.
